Fort Royal is a 11 bedroom country house hotel on the edge of Lough Swilly, just out side the village of Rathmullan, in North Donegal.
Fort Royal has been run by the same family since it opened in 1948, and although many improvements have been made since, the same principles in hospitality are still used today.
The hotel is situated in 14 privately owned acres of mature trees, gardens and lawns of which the front one leads right down to the beach.
Fort Royal is also renowned for its award winning cuisine, friendly regular staff, comfortable bedrooms and lounges, and a very special home from home atmosphere. It is the perfect place to escape to for peace and tranquility, or as a base to explore the fascinating county of Donegal.
For the more energetic guest, Fort Royal has its own 9 hole pitch and putt course and hard tennis court, both overlooking the sea. If you prefer something more gentle how about a stroll along the beach or simply reading a good book in front of one of the log fires.
